Divorce is rarely simple. When couples have significant wealth, the process can be even more challenging. Complex cases are ill-served by formulaic approaches—knowing what to dispute and where to compromise are essential to a successful outcome. Clients hire me for my experience and judgment, but they refer me to others because of the high level of personal attention and care they receive.

Lori is sought after to represent clients in divorces involving large estates or complex financial issues. She has extensive experience with cases that include the valuation of closely held businesses, professional practices, and real estate, executive and startup compensation, property characterization, and marital agreements.

Before transitioning her practice from commercial litigation to complex divorce work over 25 years ago, Lori represented clients in a wide range of civil cases in state and federal courts in Washington, Alaska, and Oregon in mediations, arbitrations, bench and jury trials, and appeals. Lori’s divorce clients benefit from her diverse background, particularly in cases with a large number and variety of assets. In turn, she finds helping people through one of the most difficult life experiences uniquely gratifying.

With an innate ability to read people and situations and unwavering determination, Lori has a talent for positioning complicated financial and legal issues for successful resolution. No two divorces are the same. Beginning with their first meeting, Lori helps clients understand what can reasonably be accomplished in their particular case and how they can make smart decisions about their options. She is an invaluable partner and advocate in the divorce process.

In addition to representing clients in divorces, Lori also serves as a mediator in divorce and related matters. Also, she has advised businesses and individuals on divorce-related issues and served as an expert witness on legal malpractice.
