JASON L. BERGEVIN

Having grown up in a small town in Alaska, I understand the value of relationships. While we may meet in the context of a dispute, my goal is to help you resolve that dispute and then work with you long-term to minimize the risk going forward.

Jason works diligently to resolve disputes on behalf of a wide variety of clients, from small family-owned businesses to large companies and public entities in Washington and Alaska. He counsels clients to put them in the best position to minimize exposure to potential claims in the first place.

As businesses grow and change, so do their legal needs. Jason brings 20+ years of experience and a forthright and pragmatic approach that his clients appreciate. Clients bring Jason in as outside general counsel to advise them on various matters, including contracts, human resources, and employment issues.  His litigation experience allows him to  then help to manage any disputes that arise.

Jason’s transactional work includes drafting contracts, employment agreements, non-compete agreements and employee handbooks. As an experienced litigator, Jason enjoys diving into the details of a case. He finds key hidden facts and puts the puzzle together to figure out the best resolution for clients.

With an extensive background serving the design and construction industry, Jason knows the nuances of the construction business. He reviews construction contracts to help clients avoid issues and negotiates other contracts related to development. Jason has represented every party in a construction dispute, from the owners, developers and the design team to the contractors and subcontractors. His experience covers all facets of construction defect litigation and casualty claims. With prior experience at an insurance defense firm, he knows the ins and outs of insurance issues in the construction context. Having been on all sides of the table, Jason offers a valuable perspective. This perspective informs his review of construction contracts and helps provide his clients with an understanding of the process. He understands what is important to all the parties involved and how best to prevent and address conflicts.
