Any problem can be solved with hard work and creative thinking. I pursued a career as an attorney to have a meaningful and tangible way to help people.
Maia is dedicated to helping people navigate the legal process on a variety of issues and creating solutions that get them out of a tough situation as quickly as possible.
With a background in health law and regulatory issues, Maia brings significant experience analyzing cases with ethical and legal components. Her legal experience has involved getting people through a crisis when their livelihood and reputation were on the line. Having handled countless negotiations, she has an ability to build relationships even in adversarial situations and stays objective in the process without getting rattled.
As a big picture person, Maia sees issues substantively and thinks outside the box. She anticipates arguments that may be made and gets creative with arguments to open the door to new solutions. She is great on her feet and skilled at explaining complex concepts in a way that is simple to understand.
Maia started her legal career as a staff attorney with the Washington State Department of Health where her role was to protect public safety. She liked the complexity of ethical problems that arise in healthcare and her mission as a public servant. Previously, Maia was a legal extern with the Administrative Office of the Courts, Office of Public Guardianship, and King County Superior Court. She has also served as a volunteer with Thurston County Legal Services.
